Welcome to The Lectionary Pulpit! This site is devoted to the development of sermons and resources based upon the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL) . You can find a virtual copy of the RCL with the weekly readings at the Vanderbilt Divinity Library.

I was raised in a non-mainline church and was only exposed to Lectionary preaching and an emphasis upon the readings as an adult. It did not, however, take me very long to see the value in following the lectionary, for both personal devotions and corporate worship. It helps sustain a balanced approach to scripture which is something that I think is very important.

Right now, I am preparing to re-enter ministry within a mainline church. I am going to use this site to prepare and share sermons that I may preach in the future. My goal is to publish a minimum of one sermon a week based upon one of the appropriate weekly readings. Also, I will use this site to post links to material that I find useful in the preparation of these sermons.

If you find one of these sermons helpful, please let me know. You are more than welcome to commandeer these sermons for your own use. Please, do drop me a note and let me know if you are able to use one; it would be such a blessing to know that I have been helpful.
